The ACoRNS team have developed some new resources to help professionals and schools learn about children before they transition in September. The resources are based on creating Digital Stories, which are short videos that show who the child is, including their strengths, capabilities and preferences, rather than focusing on their difficulties and challenges.
Under the current circumstances we know that normal processes and procedures used to support transitions may not be possible and so taking a Digital Stories approach could be beneficial for all concerned. Digital Stories are already being used amongst ACoRNS partners to support assessments for EHCPs during lockdown, and supporting transition planning for children and young people.
